This Wednesday and Thursday (June 27-28) Desiring God Ministries is offering all books by John Piper for only $5 each. If you haven't read anything by Piper before, this is a great opportunity to check him out.As part of my Friday morning Bible study, we've read Desiring God and are currently reading Let the Nations be Glad! The two you mentioned are outstanding. I just finished "What Jesus Demands From the World" and it is amazing. Piper very briefly looks at 50 different commands of God from the gospels. Very humbling.
ReplyDeleteThe Legacy of Sovereign Joy, and The Hidden Smile of God are good brief biographies that might whet your appetite for meatier fare.
If you're too cheap to fork out $5 or the overwhelmed DG server is frustrating your plans to buy out the store, you might be interested to know that quite a few Piper books are available free of charge in electronic format.
